World: Rising migrant deaths top 4,400 this year – IOM records more than 45,000 since 2014

Globally, the number of deaths this year is more than the 4,236 total recorded in 2020. Considering fatal incidents are often recorded weeks or months later, the final toll is likely to be much higher.
