Burkina Faso: Schools caught up in armed conflict sweeping across the Sahel

Between April 2017 and December 2019, the number of school closures due to violence in Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger rose six-fold. By end-2019, more than 3,300 were shut, affecting almost 650,000 children.
